LILY BRICKMEIER

About Me

Hiya! I am Lily Brickmeier and I am currently a second year at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia. I am expected to graduate in 2026 with a bachelors in English Literature and a minor in History. After graduation, I plan to go into a graduate program for library sciences. Attending a high school that was just down the street from my local library heavily influenced my desire to go into library sciences. Most afternoons, I would walk to the library and feel so welcomed by the staff and community there. It made me realize the importance of libraires and called me to want to be part of the work that is done on a day to day basis. 

To be able to dive into that community more I have had the privilege of Agnes Scott’s array of classes to further my pursuits and education. The many classes I have taken at Agnes have expanded my critical and analytical thinking not only as a scholar but as a reader as well. I have always been a big reader, but being able to gain news skills and thought processes not only have prepared me for the future but also establish  myself as a writer regardless of my pursuits. 

Most of my work focuses more on academic papers, but through this portfolio I aim to show my creative fiction as well. While I don’t intend to go into a field that usually requires creative fiction works, the ability to write a variety of pieces and taking classes that assist in developing my proficiency as a writer. ​
